What we hold,
and where it goes.
Most privacy policies describe what a site might do. This one says what this site does. Every claim below was checked against the code that serves these pages rather than copied from a template — and where the site does something you might not expect, it is stated rather than buried.
The record
What this site holds
This site holds one category of personal data: messages readers choose to send us. The table is the complete list. There is no second list.

What this site never does
- No analytics, and no traffic measurement of any kind.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No tracking pixels, social plugins, or embedded third-party players.
- Nothing that follows you after you leave.
- No account, sign-in, or registration. There is nothing to sign up for.
- No IP address, browser string, or referring page stored alongside your message.
- No selling, renting, or sharing with data brokers.

What sits on your device
This site sets no cookie of its own. What exists is the following, and nothing besides.

There is no cookie banner here, because there is nothing to consent to in order to read the site. The one cookie a reader can pick up appears only because they asked for a translation.
Where your data goes
Two companies, and a host
Two companies see something when you load a page here. Neither is an analytics provider and neither is told who you are — but both are real, and this is where most sites would leave them out.

Google, for the typefaces
Every page here loads its fonts from Google’s font servers. That request carries your IP address, as any request to any server does. It happens on every page load, before you do anything at all.

Google, for the translations
If you use a regional edition, Google does the translating. The connection to Google opens when you open the language menu — not only when you pick a language — so hovering over it is enough. From then on Google’s own script is running on the page, and the cookie it sets is Google’s, not ours.

Our host
The site runs on Hostinger. Their servers keep the standard access logs any web server keeps — the address a request came from, the page asked for, and the time. We do not read them, and we do not connect them to anything you send us.

The desk’s mailbox
Messages you send are delivered by email to a Gmail address, so Google holds that copy as our mail provider. It is the same copy referred to in the table above.
There is no fifth. Nothing is sold, rented, or passed to advertisers, brokers, or anyone else.
The policy
The clauses
This policy is written in English, and the English text is the one that governs. A regional edition is a machine translation of it, produced in your browser and good enough to read, but not the published wording.
Who we are
Apolitical Being is a publication about geopolitics and current affairs, published from India by Dhaval Patel, Founder & Editor.
For India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and for the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation, the publisher is the body responsible for the personal data described on this page — the Data Fiduciary, and the controller.
The desk address is the single route for everything on this page: apoliticalbeing@gmail.com.
What this policy covers
This page covers this website and its regional-language editions. It does not cover any other site, and it does not cover what a third party does with data it holds independently of us.
The regional editions are machine translations produced in your browser. The English text on this page is the one that governs.
Your rights
Wherever you read from, the same rights apply to your data here:
- To be told what we hold, and to be given a copy of it.
- To have it corrected.
- To have it erased.
- To object to our holding it.
Because this site has no accounts, exercising any of these means writing to the desk from the address you used. We handle requests with WordPress’s own export and erase tools, and reply within 30 days.
One limit, stated plainly: erasing your record here does not reach the copy that was emailed to the desk. We will delete that too when you ask, but we cannot reach into a mail provider’s backups.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the matter to the Data Protection Board of India.
If you are in the UK or the EEA
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR apply as well. The controller is Apolitical Being, published by Dhaval Patel, reachable at the desk address above.
We do not ask for consent anywhere on this site, and we do not rely on it. Where the law requires us to name a basis, these are the ones we rely on:

Some of this processing happens outside the UK and the EEA. The companies named under “Where your data goes” above are the recipients, and both operate internationally.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you may complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live. We would rather you wrote to us first.
Children
This site is written for adults and is not directed at children. Under the DPDP Act a child’s data may not be processed without verifiable parental consent, and we do not knowingly hold any. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to the desk and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
The date this policy was last revised is in the record panel at the top of this page. It is read from the page itself rather than typed in by hand, so it cannot drift from what actually changed.
Earlier versions are available on request.
