A central income-support scheme that pays landholding farmer families a fixed sum each year by direct transfer. It is one of the largest cash-transfer programmes in the world by beneficiary count: the twenty-third instalment, released on 20 June 2026, covered more than nine crore farmer families. The Union Cabinet approved its continuation for 2026-27 to 2030-31 on 31 July 2026, with an outlay of about ₹3.15 lakh crore.
